MN DOT Inspections

If you have a Commercial Motor Vehicle (CMV) with Minnesota license plates, you're required to have your vehicle inspected once a year (Minnesota Statutes, Section 169.781). 

Interstate, private, and for-hire trucks are also subject to safety regulations by Mn/DOT and the Minnesota State Patrol (although there are some exemptions from some requirements but MN safety inspections keep all of us safe on the road).

Upon the vehicle passing inspection, a decal will be given to you.  This decal is to be displayed and is valid for one year from the date of issue.
